Over these past few weeks I have learned a lot about document analysis and fraud. This was interesting because I found out how creative people can get to alter checks and other documents. They use many substances and objects to remove the ink. We tried to do this, and found out that it was difficult to not alter the paper. I also found the handwriting analysis part was fun. We could determine and match a specific letter or note to the victims. There are many ways to find differences and similarities with the letters. You can compare the slant, darkness, and loops. You can also see writing styles and if they write on the line. Although sometimes this was hard, you could make a pretty decent match. With the checks and other documents, such as wills, they would use various tools. They used razor blades and chemicals to remove the ink. This was somewhat hard to do because you cant make any marks on the paper.
